Plaid shirts are the new Nairobi craze and they are driving ladies mad..including one of my girlfriends(if you're reading this i wont buy you one lol) but seriously, they are a must have.Try not to fall victim of Nairobi uniform even if every mannequin is dressed in one.
Moving on,plaid is an amazing design that comes in great outfits.I have done a little research and you'll see on my slide show at the of the blog, if you haven't already rushed to it that is; there is a lot you can do with it,from dresses to shirt dresses, coats, trench coats, skirts the list is endless.
So here's my two cents worth of advice,if you're going to pull a plaid, please stay from the obvious colors, purple, red, yellow, green. Do a little 'fashion test' see how many people you'll meet on the street you're on with the color you want to buy, that should get you to stay away from the above uniform colors my dear.
The best times to pull a clean plaid or any other new fashion trends and look totally hot in it are
1.when it just comes in (think 2 minutes after they hit the stores, then dump it after 3 Wears.too many people will be rocking it; or
2. Wait till the trend is dead, then pick it up,then you'll have avoided looking like you're part of the new National Choir.
Create Your Own
I certainly want to see more than plaid shirts. Here's a little fun fact,if you really want to stand out,do something different.Custom-make a dress,a coat, why go right ahead and get yourself a pair of pants. There are nice tailors out there who will give you a look that no one else can.Find yours and run with it.
I'll definitely upload a photo of my plaid outfit, that way you can get a feel of what i mean.
Very soon I'll have a link where you can order these items featured on the blog.
If you have any questions, comments, don't hesitate to write and a smiley at the bottom after reading will also rock.
cheers.
