is what you wear a personal choice or an unconscience influence?

Most of what we wear everyday is usually decided for us.Don't panic,it has nothing to do with little aliens whispering into our ears as we sleep or creating images in our heads during the day and we call it imagination..(well that might not be entirely false either)..but this is my point.What you are wearing right now was one day either on the run way,or part of a fashion collection that was done a while back.
  I've actually taken my time to see how true this is and surprise!!! (sorry i don't have any theatrical props to help me create the dramatic scene i was hoping for,but not to worry i will next time) yeah you guessed it.the sweater you wear,skirt,jeans,everything.
   those who've watched ugly Betty you'll understand what i mean.Before you buy anything,you usually have an idea of how you want the full outfit to be.where did you get the idea?Most ladies....

• TV
• magazines
• model friends on facebook and other social networks (ohh please don't give me that look i know you do)
• latest fashion trends in the world
• mannequins (yes i said it)
• fashion week
• blogs (you're welcome)

These and many more.Sometimes its more complicated, a designer sees a certain piece on the runway,he picks it and modifies it to a more wearable piece.And that is the beauty sometimes of being a designer,you can alter anything on the runway to be a more commercial item and can be sold..Ever thought of googling "wearable fashion week"?well it gives you some of the pieces that designers showcase and can actually be worn "in Milan,new york etc" not here..well at least not yet.

i have to say am really impressed by the speed at which some of these pieces move from the runway to being available  'in a store near you'.
