what to wear to a fashion show

  Miss fashionguide has been invited to a fashion show (Nairobi has seen its fair share of those these past few months).When the invite came,i was excited...then the dressing dilemma,what to wear. This is nothing close to the one i have every morning. I've gone window shopping for the past five days and still nothing.Am at a loss,i have a few more days to go so as i try help myself on this one.
      Anyway here are some ideas for you in case you have to attend a fashion show :

1.keep it smart casual. That has always been the no. 1 rule of fashion shows.unless they've given it a theme,all black,white,edgy..don't try competing with the runway models.plus you'll always score on a casual look.

2.ease up on the wallet sugar. Unless you earn a six figure salary,don't go out shopping for a non- re wearable outfit.look for something you can wear after the show.otherwise its a pure waste of good money.

3".My feet they speak Italian walk so high".now that line in sponsor is one to run with.We all have that pair(s) of heels we bought cause it would look awesome in our closets,now is the time to flaunt it.Match it or clash it with your outfit and you'll never regret  it.FYI : get a cab or a chauffeur for this cz i imagine those heels are not 2 inches...

4.company.If this is your first appearance into the fashion scene,have a friend or two who know their way around fashion gatherings tag along with you.Trust me,the last thing you need is whispering something to a total stranger and they give you the "i helped her design that,hater "look.

5.bag that!!! Carry that amazing designer bag to complement your look.It always works well especially as a conversation starter ie "nice bag" and you go "thank you,its...LV,Gucci,D&G, Givenchy or even your local designers.

6.I wear my sunglasses… Put on your best diva swagga and wear your big  sunglasses while you’re cabbing in to the show. (if you're going with me then you'll be assured of a sunny day,being a Greek goddess and all, Zeus has a soft spot for me..)  Remember to pull them off and give the paps you're best side.

7.class not trash. We know you got the goods,but this isn't the place to show it.And if you plan to hit the clubs after this,please do everyone a favor by not showing up. A fashion show is all about class,yeah you've seen celebrities full some strange stunts on the red carpet.news flash,they are celebrities,that's what they do.hit it or miss it either way they get their names on the papers.Do yourself a favor,stay decent.

8.you're who what now? You may not get as many pictures taken of you,hell maybe no one will even notice when you walk in.but since you're there make it worth your while.hang out with the right crowd and people will start asking.you better have a great answer to give them

9.have fun.That is the first rule in everything you do.Get in there and enjoy yourself.."when in Rome,Do as the Romans do".take that wine class,smell its,drop a comment and walk on as a true fashionista.don't over do it though.someone may tell you don't have the slightest clue of what you're doing.
